Ted's Story

I graduated with the fabulous class of '63, and I consider all my classmates as family! Attended Centralia JC - met & married Sharon (from Oly High School) in '65. Graduated from UW in Electrical Engineering in '68 - worked for IBM for 12 years in computer technology (was on the team that invented the very first floppy drive, if you remember what that was); HP for 5 years and started my own computer products development company in '84 (called "Extended Systems"). Retired a few years ago when Extended Systems got bought out by Sybase. Lived in San Jose, CA; Morgan Hill, CA; Boulder, CO; Mead, CO; and now in Kuna, ID. In San Jose and Kuna I built my own home - every task except sheet-rock finish and carpets! We have 4 children...all getting awfully old! Enjoying grandchildren in Boise and Oklahoma City - 7 grandchildren (including natural, adopted, step and foster) with one more on the way in June. Farm a little (have 40 acres), but mostly am involved with hunger and poverty issues. I operate the food bank (and other assistance center) in our little town of Kuna, ID. Have traveled and enjoyed seeing much of Europe. (Also business to Singapore, etc) Mission trips to Central America to build a new church. I have attended every 10 year reunion for MM'63 and always enjoy seeing everyone an...Expand for more
d catching up... only thing is they all are getting gray ;-) My beard is finally filling in fully gray, so I don't look like I'm constantly drooling. I enjoyed High School and hope none of my irresponsible actions left anyone scarred for life! A few years ago I did appologize to Mr. Anderson and thank him for not letting the police arrest those lads who stole RA Long's victory bell... painted it in Mark Morris Blue and Red... and presented it back to them at a joint dance... so long ago. My knees ached terribly for years after the 56 mile race in from the Beach Highway...but a few years ago I discovered glucosamine/condroitine/with msm and I don't hurt anymore! What relief! Too bad Chuck Pinney's odometer didn't remind him to stop at 50 miles to let us out! (He said he wanted to make sure we went at least the official 50 miles!) Chris Ericson, Jack Southern and I named our blisters in honor of those who helped shepherd our long run to keep us safe. (Actually, one of mine was named Christer-Blister in honor of ...) Oh, I remember the time several of us were going to Portland on I-5 and had a blowout down by Woodland. Fortunately Larry Olmstead was with us and he simply lifted the side of the car by standing in the door frame, so we could change the tire! Is that why we called him Horse?
