Life 1. What have I been up to since leaving Nogales? January 1985: After commuting everyday from Diamond Bar to West Covina on the RTD bus for well over a year, my parents transferred me to Diamond Bar HS. June 1986: Graduated from Diamond Bar HS. 1986 - 1990: Attended Univ of California, Davis. June 1990: Made the decision to stay at Davis a few years after graduation (because of a girl) and worked for 2 years at UCD Admissions/UCD Outreach as recruiter. Two years later (when it became PAINFULLY clear that the relationship was over) I left for an English teaching job in Japan. 1992: I gave away virtually everything and moved to Japan, with the intention of becoming fluent in the language, traveling all over Asia on a dime, and saving a little money/preparing for grad school. 1994: Two years later, I was fluent in Japanese (the true power of Karaoke), never saw another Asian country & had very little money saved (because of another girl). Luckily, I saved some time for grad school prep and managed to get into the MBA program at the Univ. of Chicago. 1995-96: Lived on the South side of Chicago as a starving student, literally.
