Teena's Story
Life
Between my husband I we have 4 children, but they're all ours. Steven is 13 going into 8th grade really give us a run for our money. Emily is 11 going into 6th grade, quite a spunky little thing, she's our athlete, really good at dance. Donald Jr, is 10 going into the 5th grade, he's our brain, he's in 2 gifted programs at school. The baby Mariah Angel is our little miracle, she was born at 1lb 5oz, and is now 7yrs old. Still very tiny, but quite a fighter. Bright as can be and never lets anything hold her back.
College
I went back to college,in June of 2007, after taking about 2 yrs off. I was only two semesters shy of my criminal justice degree. Then I hurt my back at work, and can no longer wear a gun belt, so here I am again. I am now majoring in human services, which caused me to lose most of my previous credits. Only 4 more years to go for my masters.
Workplace
I think I'm a typical American, meaning I've had lots of differ...Expand for more
net jobs. I worked as a make-up artist for about 5 years after I graduated beauty school. Tons of fun but no work for that in upstate NY. When I lived in Missouri I owned my own photography studio for a few years. I did the photography as well as make-up work. I got a divorce my back to NY (my original homestate), and finally got the dreaded job of flipping burgers. Actually I was a manager at McDonald's. Not very rewarding but paid the bills. I did the stay at home mom thing for about 4 years when I got pregant with my daughter. I then worked part time as an ESL tutor. When I finally went back to work full time I was working for TSA (airport secuirty) I thought I would be there for a long time, but then government cut backs hit to cover the espenses of the war and I lost my job. I then went to security at FT. Drum where I have been for 3 yrs now. Hopefully someday I finish my college degree then I'll figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
