Teena's Story
Life
In recent years, I have become more adventurous and spontaneous. Throughout the years I have traveled quit a bit for work and experienced many cultures. Things in my life are starting to settle down and I chose to settle in the Tucson and own a home next to a golf course near the Catalina Mts. WHAT a view! I am a Program Manager in the Information Technology for the Gov. and Enjoy my work. I am rather active in the community and church with events that are focused to make a small difference in our world. My curiosity is overwhelming when it comes to friends from high school. What a different world it seemed to us at that time. What has everyone done with their lives?
School
After graduating from Yuma Union High School in Â79, I attended AWC for what was to be the beginning of an architectural degree. Later, I returned to AWC and earned degrees in Computer Information Systems, and Business Administration. on Management while working for Pima Community College. Later I returned to earn my masters in Computer Information Management and I am working on my PhD in Computer Science.
College
I attended the University of Arizona to earn bachelors in Management Information Systems, Human Resource Management, and Public Administration Management while working at Pima Community College. The best part of college was meeting diverse people and experiencing different cultures. My eyes were opened not only to higher education, but to higher understanding of the world around us. Pivotal in my life!
Workplace
My career has affored me to travel all over. I have lived in many places and expeirenced different cultures and perspectives. I have worked as a computer programmer; programmer/analyst; database assistant; database specialist; program manager; and now manager. As in anything in life, my career has taught me that the more I learn, the more I realize I need to learn. I.T. is an every changing and growing field. I highly recommend it if you are thinking about it.
