Terence's Story
Greetings,
In 1980, I was fortunate to have been selected to be part of the ABC (A Better Chance) program whereby I was taken from Jersey City, NJ to complete HS in Concord, NH. That experience was the beginning of a good life. I met many good persons there, two of whom I am still in contact with, my host parents. While in college,(Skidomre College, Saratoga Springs, NY), I played intramural sports and was an assistant self-defense instructor. I also became a radio and club dj, "DJ Squeeze". Since HS I knew I wanted to be an accountant. So, I majored in business.
After college, I returned to NJ where I began my career in accounting. In 1995 I became a father.
About 2yrs. ago my job sent me to warmer climes in the southwestern US.
So, here I am just west of Houston, TX, with my 17yr. old son enjoying the sun and heat.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel backyard and take out the seimming pool. My dream home would be in TX on a ranch with alot of acreage around me for hunting.
I am learning how to deal with a teenager who knows everything about being a parent.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 50% of it to WB&TS of PA,...Expand for more
then spend the rest on my home, my son's education and whatever.
Campus life in college was fun. I lived in the same dorm for 3yrs. I was the 'King of Wilmarth'. I met my best friend in my junior year. He lived on the other side of my suite.
My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely wrong.
I am doing what I wanted to for a career. I may not be working for the the FBI or the GAO, but I am a CPA.
My best friend would tell you I'm alright, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as relaxed.
I share my home with my son, T. Christopher, which I find very normal.
My oldest friend would be Naheem. We met in 4th/5th grade. I liked the fact that he was a natural born leader.
My first job was at a farm, where I got paid 3.15/hr to pick rocks off the field. What I remember most about it is it sucked, but I got paid.
I'll never forget how much trouble I caused Ms. Myra Rowan everday in her class. I was her best student and she knew my aunt personally, so I never got in trouble for my bad behavior. Also, Frank Duncan and I would fight EVERYday!
