Teresa's Story
I owe my success in business to Captain Kangaroo.
When I was a little girl I wached his show everyday. The Captain had a shoe box filled with crayons, sissors, paste, etc. He would demonstrate how to make something out of the simplest things. I mimiced everything thing he did until I developed an eye for turning nothing into something too. One thing lead to another and I ended up at a dead end job making pillows for a family owned business. The family eventually sold out to the biggest producer of textiles in the world. positions until I ran into a wall. I needed a college degree to go any further with the company. I was getting kind of old at this point and knew that college would be difficult at best. I bit the bullet and went back to school for a couple years. It was hard but I hung in there. Anyway, twenty-eight years later, I'm still at it but I am the Product Development Manager for the basic bedding division of the company. I create new products, write copy for them, test new materials, teach my peers about the business, and work independently 95% of the time. Captain Kangaroo would be proud.
