Teresa's Story

Hey everyone! I can only hope that life has treated all of my classmates fine, and karma has proven itself good! =) After Highschool, I went to AACC for Computer Science but my father passed away when I turned 18 so I had to return home as the youngest child to help my mother. I started working in the medical field, first a receptionist, then billing manager, then back office manager. It was then I got a fascination for doing medical procedures to anyone BUT me.. LOL.. BUT alas I wasnt quite ready yet, so I went to Phlebotomy class at AACC and started working for the Red Cross. It was wonderful! I did the mobile units, worked in the field, helped with charitable events, did special blood collections, finally did cell savers(which basically means I operated a machine in the Operating Room which takes the patients blood and recycles it and returns it to the patient and that of course helps with blood loss during surgery). That gave me the kick in the butt to get to it and the bite of the Nursing bug even more.. lol.. Soooo, I went to Union Memorial School of Nursing, and Catonsville Community College for my pre-requisites and worked full time + every other Saturday while going to School 4 nights a week 5-1030pm and doing clinicals at various locations every other weekend 7a-5pm both Sat & Sun. Needless to say it was a VERY difficult time and I lost touch with almost everyone, and my fiance dumped me.. LOL~! BUT all in all it was WAY worth it, as I graduated and became a Nurse. AND HE became a bankrupt jerk who is STILL single! hehehe! Anyhow, It is a very demanding and hard career, BUT personally it was very nice to know I made a difference in so many peoples lives. Even if it was only to give them a glimmer of light in thier eyes when all else is failed, or to hold a hand and comfort a crying child, or to give the good news that all is going to be ok. BUT most of all, TO ME, it meant that each and every patient of MINE would get quality care and a smile no matter what~ !! I know, sounds corny eh? lol! On a personal note... I was a serial dater for a long time.. lol.. The work seems to give the need to blow off some st...Expand for more
eam.. <EVIL GRIN>.. It also gives you the " Lifes too short for stupid or triffling people" idea.. lol.. Hence one dumb move and you're outta there! lol.. BUT then I met a wonderful, tall, handsome, muscular, funny, kind, yet ornery man (while I was on a date with someone else) LOL.. AND we hit it off! From the night we met, we never voluntarily spent a night apart! Here it is 9 years later and we're more in love now than in the beginning! Its sickening.. we have pet names for each other, and are all touchy-feely, and very affectionate and we laugh when family aggravates us about being teenagers again.. lol.. BUT hey.. everyone should be so lucky.. We've had our problems for sure! Some BIG ones at times.. BUT our love stayed strong and we worked it out! OK OK, enough of the yucky romantic stuff eh? lol.. Maybe I shared too much today and next week I might delete it.. lol.. BUT hey, I'm in a good mood with the Holiday coming and all so deal with it~! LOL.. For all my friends and acquiantances in High School and you know who you are! I hope you remember me for the nice and good things I did back then. Remember me for the laughs and the ornery ways we cut up back then.. Remember me for friendship given unconditionally.. Remember me for the party animal I once was, and when we used to sneak up into the announcement booth on the football field, or in the woods and do "our thing" and then stagger home to our beds praying our parents wouldnt notice the "strange smoke smell" or the odor of liquor on our breaths mixed with 100 tic tacs.. LOL~! BUT most of all, remember I was a young, dumb teenager who made mistakes, and maybe hurt feelings, and maybe laughed at things that werent really funny now.. AND STILL know that my heart was in the right place and that I'm sorry if I did anyone any wrong back then.. Okkkk... I"m over it now.. lol.. I hope someone at least reads this mess I wrote! Because, some of my old friends might get a laugh out of it! And some people I didnt know at all might get a laugh out of it.. lol .. I know I sure did! HUGzzz, to all my classmates! Teresa
