Teresa Marie's Story

Life Okay, where to begin? My father was in the military so we moved a few times. From what I remember we lived in Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX for about 8 years. He was transferred to Fort Polk, LA for only 6 months. Thank GOD! He was then transferred to Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. My parents got a divorce in 1996 and my mother and I moved of base and into a 5 star trailer park. My father moved back to his hometown Vernon, TX. My mother and I had to move to Vernon, TX to live with my father because my brother and sister-in-law made us lose our house. Long story that's not important. Went to VHS until I decided to run away my sophomore year with a guy I thought I could trust. Went to Colorado and met up with my friends. They were surprised to see me because I was always the angel of the group. Did I surprise them. Got caught by the police and they took us to a foster facility. My father and aunt came and got me. Was grounded for a very long time. So nothing interesting there. The second semester of my junior year moved to Ada, Ok with my mother to take care of my brothers kids. Got into a huge fight with mother and went back to Vernon, TX to finish high school. Graduated on May 24, 2001. Moved back to Ada. Met my ex-husband Carl Joe Metcalf at the swimming pool of my brothers apartments. Got job at Wall's Bargain Center. Thought I fell in love and moved in with Joe. Left job at Wall's and tried to go to college in the summer of 2002. I had to quit because I got really sick, we had no vehicle, and he had lost his job. We got married on May 24, 2003 and the real Carl Joe Metcalf came out. He kept losing jobs, we kept going from house to house, and were constantly fighting. I finally got fed up of being broke and found job at Dollar General on May 19, 2005. Quickly moved up to Assistant Manager. Found out that an old friend of the family had a major crush on me. His name is Danny Bok Grenzebach, he's half Korean and half German and 100% angel. We started hanging out together. He took me to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks, Ok on my birthday, November 3 for those who don't know or remember. November 7 I gave Joe the boot. Filed for divorce on December 9 and it was finalized on January 12, 2006. Danny and I started dating. And I've been happy ever since. Don't work at Dollar General anymore more because of management issues. Danny is a full time mechanic making very good money, we're looking for house out in the country with at least 5 acres of land or more, I'm starting college next fall, and we're getting married either April 20, 2007 or April 20, 2008 at 4:20 pm. I finally got out of my shyness stage. I love to party. Hard to believe for some people I know. School My father was in the military so I was in a few different schools. The important ones are when we moved to Colorado in 1990. I started 2nd grade at Freedom's Trail Elementary School (which does not exist anymore) and attended until 5th grade. t of school for the second half because my mother and I went to California for half the year. I then moved up to 6th grade at Carson Middle School. That's were a lot of my most favorite memories started. I was in band and had a great teacher, Mrs. Poffenbarger. During my 6th or 7th grade I was one of the track equipment managers. I met many people and made lots of friends. I really enjoyed art class with Mr. Coonfield. I made it to 8th grade and graduated to high school. We had a commencement after 8th grade which was fun, because the band played for us. I originally was suppost to go to Sierra High School, but that didn't work out thankfully. So I went to Fountain-Fort Carson High School and surprised all my friends. I was only there for a few months because my mother and I had to move, but made a lot of memories. I enjoyed band because it was the beginning of marching band for me and a lot of my friends. Marching band was a blast even though we only had 3 days to learn a song and all the movements. Each week we had to learn a new song for football half time on Fridays. We were a high ranking school, I don't remember what but I believe it was either the highest or next to highest. We moved to Vernon, TX and I attended Vernon High School. I was still in band and really liked it even though it was only a 3A band. We didn't have to learn a new song and new movements each week which was a plus. But we did have to memories all our music for competition. We went on band trips every year. It was funny because my freshman band trip was to Colorado. We went to the Royal Gorge. I was glad we went because I missed Colorado and still do. I liked VHS because Vernon is a small town and everyone knows each other. Everyone was nice to me when I started. I made a lot of friends, especially people in band and drill team. I missed a lot of school because of illness, but managed to get by. I actually went to Ada High School for a few weeks during the second semester of my junior year, but went back to Vernon and graduated on May 24, 2001. I was surprised to find that I graduated with a 3.2 GPA because I had missed a lot of school and had to go to summer school twice. I actually almost didn't get to walk across the stage in May, I was going to have to go to summer school and graduate at the end of summer because I was short 2 credits. But since I was behind my senior year my english teacher told me about credit recovery and thought that I should go there to get my English IV credit. So I did and finished early, so I went ahead and started on getting my Algebra II and World History credit. I busted my butt off getting all the lessons in because I had a full years worth of information that I had to learn for 2 classes in only 2 months. It was graduation day when I went and took the final tests for both classes. I PASSED with flying colors. I went straight from the credit recovery building to the football field to attend graduation rehearsal. Talk about a close call.
