Teresa's Story
After graduation I went to work full-time in the County Treasurer's Office for 5 years..then moved to the County Commissioner's Office. I married my High School Sweetheart John in September 1985 and had our son, Josh in 1987. I worked for the county for over 11 years then quit in 1994 to have our daughter, Jordan. I was a stay-at-home mom for about 6 or so years then went to work for Lewis Gale ER night shift....worked there until 4 years ago and was blessed to get my job at Salem Fire Dept as an administrative assistant in charge of EMS billing and part-time EMS scheduling. I love my job...I am still madly in love with my wonderful husband of 23 years and am very proud of our two kids. John is a paramedic firefighter with the City of Roanoke and a part-time medic with salem. Our...Expand for more
son is a part-time EMT-I with Roanoke City and Carilion. He played football and lacrosse for Salem High. Our daughter is in her last year in middle school. She played volleyball, basketball and will run track for Andrew Lewis Middle School this Spring. She plays JO Volleyball and lacrosse. We are blessed to be involved with a wonderful church Fellowhsip Community Church in Salem where God is at work in every corner of the place. I am blessed to have my mother and my father with us still not to mention both of my grandmother's. I lost two of my uncles within the past four years and that has changed the family dynamics more than we could ever imagine.
I love being a mom and a wife...I hav been blessed with a lot of new friends, but sadly miss the old ones. I think of them often.
