Teresa's Story
I sell insurance... Medicare supplements, life and annuities and I love it. I never saw myself doing this, but it is a fun way to spend your day believe it or not. My friend calls it ripping off old people but he is a cranky old jaded elitist liberal.
I spent years in the theater and intend to go back when I am truly old enough to play crazy old ladies. But for now I am making real money and enjoying finally having some time to myself, though I do miss having my boys around. I miss their HS years but am looking forward to Grandchildren. For now I have to be satisfied with granddoggies, Buddy, Trouble and Miami and my two cats Pooh-Bear and Moo.
I sing with a small Opera company in Scranton and also with a group that sings the music (liturgy) of the great Eastern European composers such as Rachmaninoff, Tchiakovsky, Bortniansky, Vedel, Archangelsky etc... sounds dry and boring I know, but the music is glorious and easily rivals (IMO beats)the ...Expand for more
great composers of Western Europe we sang in HS and College such as Mozart, Verdi, Faure and Bach.
It's kind of like singing Sondheim, once you sing his shows no other musical theater is as satisfying because nothing else seems like a challenge. In the same way, the music of the eastern orthodox church is so beautiful and so very difficult (no instrumentation and often in 8 parts)that once you start to master it, everything else seems too easy, even Opera.
For a time I was a prof photographer, specializing in children and actor's head shots though I did some weddings. I prefer nature and still life photography and have yet to give in to Digital. I like film.
What else? I still love the outdoors, the wilderness and my dream would be to have a lake in the woods all to myself. That would be paradise.
I garden and read when I have time. I am a political junkie, though this last election has almost curred me it was so ugly and lasted so long.
