Teresa's Story

Life After graduation I moved to San Bernardino, then Temple City. Didn't like Temple City so moved back to Barstow, got married, separated, then moved up to Utah (beautiful state by the way) where my son was born and I got divorced. A year later, I moved to the flat Texas panhandle to a very small town, where I spent 20 LONG years full of hail storms, tornados, blizzards, blistering heat and WIND! *G* Allergy country. While there I went to college in Kansas and got my associates in applied sciences degree. (I spent 2 years driving to KS 5 days a week--75 miles one way, but it was closer then a college in Amarillo which was over 100 miles away and I owned my home so didn't want to move...couldn't afford to anyway!) Now I live in SD after reuniting with an ex boyfriend. We had dated (love at first sight--and I was his first love) in the early 80s in TX while the oilfield was booming. When that started dying, he moved back to SD to work and be near his (large!) family. I had a toddler and family where I was, and stupidly, didn't go with him since we were in love. 20 years later, he found me again! This time I moved to SD to be with him, and we were together for over 10 years. We split up and I moved into an apt in Jan 2009. We are still friends, but I had to get out before I ended up hating him. LOL I'm much happier, although I miss having a yard!!! I love yardwork! I've been single since and haven't been dating, mainly, because I don't know anyone here that I'd want to. LOL I don't do the bar scene (once a year or so doesn't count) and don't work so it's been hard to meet other single people. At this age, there aren...Expand for more
't as many anyway. My parents after visiting here a few times, decided they'd like to move up here, so did the end of 2006. They moved to a small town about the same size as the one we'd lived in in TX. Sadly, we lost my Dad in May 2009 to cancer. I still miss him. I'm sure I always will. I'm glad to have my Mom a lot closer then TX though! She lives about 45 minutes away which is much better then 15 hours away!!! I have a son,who is married to a beautiful woman, and made me a grandma in Aug. 2002, by having a beautiful, big blue eyed, blonde haired, with dimples little girl. They moved back to TX when she was 2 months old, but moved back up to SD when she was 4 and then in July 2007 gave me a wonderful handsome grandson! Who I was lucky enough to get to spend a lot of the first 5 years of his life with and bond with. I missed so much of my granddaughters baby years since she was so far away. After they moved back up here, I made sure to spend as much time as possible with my grandkids! My son went to college and got a degree and had a great job as some kind of systems engineer (computer oriented) lined up before graduation. He moved in May 2012 to Casper WY, and my DIL and grandkids followed the end of August. I sure do miss them all!!! My granddaughter has a laptop so my son let her add me to her skype so me and my grandkids can talk and "see" each other often. Much better then phone calls! She says I'm the only they are allowed to talk to outside mama/daddy on there. I feel blessed! Modern technology does have it benefits! And life goes on, ever changing as usual. I wonder what it has in store for me now...
