Teresa's Story
Oh, where to begin. I have never been much of a story writer, but I will give it a try.
After high school, I ventured off to Illinois State University and by the time my senior year of college rolled around, I was really getting the hang of it. Ha! Actually, there were several of us from RHS who went there, which helped with the tranisition. I am such a family girl and so, it was very difficult for me to leave them, and of course, I was also leaving Brian M. behind too. I finally graduated with a psychology degree, although the main focus of my career has been working with young children with developmental disablities. It has been such a rewarding job but at the same time, it has consumed a lot of my life over the last 18 years. Early on, after college, I moved several times, but never too far from Romeoville. Eventually, in 1997, I planted my feet in Naperville. My parents still live in Romeoville and although they are in good health, I still feel I can't go too far away from home, since my brother chose to run to the warm climate and sunny beaches of Florida, but...Expand for more
for a good reason...his children. Up to this point, I haven't married, which is often the running joke of some of the people I still keep in touch with from high school; as it was once told to me, I would be one of the first to marry, but by the profiles I have read, I appear to be one of the last. I'm not complaining...I actually think it's kind of funny!
I recently discovered, during a hometown visit with Patty Luevano, that At's-A-Nice in Romeoville is apparently the place to be on a Friday night; it was like a mini-reunion. Several classmates from '84, '85 and '86 were there. It was nice to see some old familiar faces. Looking through the class list, I am reminded of forgotten friends, learning of those who have left this earth way too soon, but more importantly, the remembrance of simpler times and great memories; oh, how I wish we could get some of those days back! It looks like, however, life as treated most of you well and for that, I'm glad. On that note, I will close for now. So much for not knowing what to say!! Ha!
Take care everyone!
