Teresa's Story
Life
Busy life since graduating from Webb City in 78. Married, had 2 boys, joined National Guard, divorced, went to college, married good, had 2 more boys, left National Guard, graduated nursing school, moved to St.Louis area.I now live in O Fallon MO and work at DePaul Health Center in Behavioral Medicine. Our youngest boy has an autistic spectrum disorder.Hayden keeps us busy with Martial Arts and Boy Scouts. We have been through a tour of Iraq (John).John is now a recruiter and home. We are always busy with our kids. Now we have a grandchild. A girl!! I get to spoil her like crazy. We love traveling, family get togethers. I like to visit my family in Las Vegas, where I grew up. My kids keep me in Missouri friends and all. Would like to retire in Las Vegas someday.
School
I think things happen for a reason, so I wouldn't change anything.Maybe if I could go back to high school now I would promote more kindness, and not take as much too seriously.Make more friends. Not worry so much about having one boyfriend and have many.I remember if I didn't have Brenda Coleman for a friend I would have...Expand for more
felt like an outsider.Truly the "unpopular" people have the funniest stories to tell. All people can be very interesting if you just give them a chance.I am very proud of my high school grades and I am glad I didn't slough off my education. My favorite teacher was Mr.Meadows.He respected all of his students. Who knew that one day I would be visiting him in Panama while we were both there with our National Guard units.
Workplace
I worked in a factory for the first 12 years of my life. In Carthage mostly.I joined the National Guard as a medic in 1986 which led me to Nursing school partly at Ft.Leonard Wood, then I finished at St.Louis.Well, really I'm not finished. I have worked in hospitals most of my nursing career.I have worked in psych since 1997. It is quite interesting. I could tell some stories! But I won't.ha ha Never really been much of a job hopper so I guess I will retire right where I'm at.I really don't have that long to go now. I do some fundraiser's with people at work.We usually do the Happy Hour thing, inservices at nice restaurants at times that the physician's set up.
