Teri's Story
I live in Salem,Oregon.
How has everyone been doing since I found classmates site? Were I had a fun time reconnecting with a lot of my old Boarding School Friends from Cheyenne Eagle Butte (CEB); St. Joseph's Indian School; Inter-mountain Indian School (IMS) and Chemawa Indian School? After I became a Grandma on the 18th of March 2010. I spent most of my time with my grand daughter, having grand children is a wonderful gift and can take a person in an 360 degree turn were the person doesn't realize how much time they are spending with their grand kids because they are so entertaining, they love to explore and will teach you much more than you thought you already knew. lol
I have two daughters, a 31 year old, and an 18 year old, then my Grand daughter Natalena..
The "Then" picture is me with the short "Feathered Hair" (We all had to Have back then) and my little girl(Leah) at "the time who is now 28 yrs old. The "Now" picture is me(I have straight hair today)holding my First Granddaughter her name is Natalena.
I often wonder how all of you I went to school with at Inter-mountain Indian School of Brigham City, Utah ,or the Chemawa Indian school of Salem, Oregon, and St.Joe...Expand for more
sph's' Indian school of Chamberlain South Dakota and from my Hometown Cheyenne Eagle Butte are all doing, and what are you doing? I hope to hear from you.
Remember what matters in life is that we make an effort to move forward, we can't be Bill, or Melinda Gates, that is okay. We are going to experience those occasional Bumps in the road, we have no control over. However, we can still better who we are, and were it is,in life we want to go, Okay. Take care of yourselves
However, remember those days when we were taught, and shown respect,By the staff of our time, or cleaned-up after ourselves, By staff who were allowed too work with us? well, sadly, that doesn't exist at the Boarding Schools today, and what is more scary is these kids are our future Leaders and if they are allowed to work this way by non-Indians then how are they going to Learn?.
I am grateful for the good Matrons who understood about positive interaction, and taught good moral values, and principles I was taught during my experience's living at the different boarding schools. take care, ya all now (kidding). Teri Angelique
