Marie's Story
I used to go by "Teri," but I've been "Marie" (my first name) since 1986.
When I left high school, I went to San Jose State, and played at going to school. I met my first husband there. After we married, he suggested I go to work since I wasn't serious about school, which I did. I haven't stopped working since (and I never did get a degree). I was at my first job for almost 11 years, longer than my first marriage. However, this marriage did give me a beautiful and talented daughter.
I've been a claims adjuster for a large insurance company, a requirements analyst, customer support representative, trainer, systems analyst, and technical writer.
While at my first job, I met my second husband, and we married 5 years later. We've been together since 1981; married since 1986. He's helped me raise our daughter to become the amazing woman that she is.

My husband and I both work full-time--he is a Quality Assurance Manager for Nimbus Designs in Redwood City, CA; I am the Director of Production Services and Senior Technical Writer for Expert Support, a small consulting company in Mountain View, CA. I do a little technical writing, technical editing, a smattering of graphics work, and some web site updates.
When I'm not working, I'm either at the gym or working on one of my many hobbies. My new obsession is weaving, which I hope will use up some the yarn I am spinning. I also knit, quilt, cross stitch, needlepoint, and make soap. I also love to read and write in my blog at least three times a week. Needless to say, I stay very busy!
I maintain a web site for my hobby company, Solarbrations, and a web site for my husband's family. Most often, you can find me blogging as (needleloca) about my hobbies.
