Teri's Story
I moved to Carpinteria in 1998, after my husband, J.M. Taylor, lost his battle with cancer. I have two daughters; one lives in NYC with her husband and her 22-month-old son, James. Jennifer is a sales trader and Brad is an analyst. Amy lives in Santa Monica and works at ABC Disney in Burbank. When I first arrived in Santa Barbara, I was employed by Cate School, then Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, and lastly Heal the Ocean. Since then I have enjoyed many volunteer activities, including serving on the Board of Girls Inc in Carpinteria and the Zoofari Ball Committee. Now I am very active in the Garden Club of Santa Barbara. I am a two-year breast cancer survivor and appreciate everyday as a gift. I enjoy volunteering my time at the Breast Cancer Resource Center helping other women who are newly diagnosed and those who are undergoing treatment. I am the coordinator of the Breast Friends Forever, a volunteer group, that delivers flowers and produce, donated by...Expand for more
vendors at our local Farmers Market. We arrange the flowers in vases and the produce in baskets and deliver to our clients undergoing chemo and radiation. We¿ve been known to wash a car or clean an apartment!
What I enjoy for fun? What's better than a sunny day on the links? Movies, a captivating book, traveling (NYC, Mexico, Sun Valley, Australia, Singapore), playing with my dogs on the beach, working in my garden, or attending USC Football games.
Places I enjoy when going out: Lucky's for a Fillet, The Plow and Angel, Cava, Rosa Mexicano (when visiting my daughter and her husband in NYC), Chaya in Venice (when visiting my daughter in Santa Monica). Going to New York often to visit my grandson who will have a new brother this summer!
If I could change anything about my life, I would not be single, living alone. There are a lot of perks to the single life, but I miss having a best friend, someone to talk to.
I hope to hear from lots of you Titans! Hugs, Teri
