Terri's Story

Life Hi! I check classmates.com to read new bio's and see pictures. I'd love to hear from you!! My life is good, and I'm truly blessed. I have 3 daughters, ages 22, 18, and 7. My oldest daughter, Rochelle, graduated June of 2004 from High School, and is planning on becoming a medical transcriptionist, and is helping out at home and taking care of my 7 year old before and after school. My 18 year old, Bethany, is a Freshman this year at Western Washington University, majoring in communications. She went to France with her College French class last February for 12 days and had the opportunity to see Paris, Toulouse and Avignon as well many sights along the way. My 2 older daughters are from my first marriage of 9 years (84-94). I was a single parent from 1993 to 1999. I have been married for 9 years to my current husband, and I thank God every day for him. He is Mr. Wonderful! ;D My 7 year old, Chloe, is a Disney Princess now in the 2nd grade. She is a lot of fun, and keeps me young. :D I work in financial mananagent/accounting, and have been here for just over 10 years. Previously, I worked for an engineering firm as an Accounting Clerk. My husband is an engineer (ATF)for Boeing, and we enjoy snowmobiling in the winter, and camping and vacationing during the summer. I haven't been back to Coquille much to visit. My parents still live there, in the same house, same phone #, but now they travel and visit me and stay in their motor home. My sister Julie lives in Myrtle Creek, and makes it to visit Coquille once in a while, and will visit the Seattle area now that her son lives near me and is also an engineer for Boeing. My sister Zana lives in Battle Ground, Washington. The last time I was in Coquille was for the class reunion in 2001. It was great to see everyone. It's amazing though the difference in Coquille when I haven't been there for a long time. A lot of changes in Coquille, and then compared to living in the Seattle suburbs, it's amazing how much it's stayed the same. We live approx. 45 minutes from downtown Seattle, and I commute by bus and train 4 days a week. Here, you don't go by how many miles you live from place to place, you'd refer to i...Expand for more
t in terms of how long it takes you to get there! Working downtown Seattle, it's a major culture shock. I kept looking for a Starbucks in Coos Bay! Downtown Seattle there is practically one on every block! I like working downtown, where I can take a 15 minute walk and be on the waterfront, or at the Flagship Nordstrom's store, or the Flagship Macy's store. Pacific Place has stores like BCBG, Tiffany, Williams & Sonoma, etc.. I've walked to Key Arena and the Space Needle in less than 30 minutes, or it takes 15 by bus. I've enjoyed going to concerts like Shania Twain, Sarah McClachlin, Sheryl Crow/John Mayer, Def Leppard/Journey, Seatte Sonics & Seattle Storm Basketball games, Seattle Mariner Baseball games, Disney on Ice,& Bear in the Big Blue House. We're close enough to the airport for traveling, and we do like to travel. In July 2005,we went to Disneyland for the 50th anniversary celebration and stayed at Knott's Berry Farm. We drove to San Diego to the Wild Animal Park, spent a day at Universal Studios, then to Disneyland and California Adventure. If you want a good dinner show and love horses, like I do, go to Medieval Times for dinner! In 2006 we went to Disney World for a week and stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I wore a pedometer and one day logged nearly 17,000 steps! We liked it so much, and we went back in 2007, but stayed at the Saratoga Springs resort. Also another great trip was to Nassau, the Bahamas for 6 days in August 2004, and left 3 days before the hurricane hit Nassau. When I got married in 1999, we went to St. Thomas and St. John in the US Virgin Islands on our Honeymoon. We took a ferry trip to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, and again, visiting those islands are another culture shock. It was totally wonderful though. That is why I prefer to visit somewhere with warm sand, palm trees, and cold beverages. In June 2008, we spent 12 days in Cancun Mexico, and took day trips to Chichen Itza, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, and Xcaret. It's an incredible learning experience, especially for my youngest. She's already on her way to becoming a world class traveler! Maybe next time we'll go to Europe. Bye for now. :)
