Terri's Story
I retired from The Coca-Cola Company after 32 years of service, sold my home in Marietta, and moved to Lawrenceburg, TN where I live among 150 Amish families. For 12 years I have been an official KCBS (Kansas City BBQ Society) BBQ Judge. As such I participate in BBQ competitions around the Southeastern United States. Have made many friends on the BBQ trail with many becoming my BBQ Family!!
I've learned a lot through the years. Like....When you lose, don't lose the lesson...Don't judge people by their relatives...Never laugh at anyone's dream. And Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
I've learned to pick my battles. That friendships, true friendships are worth hanging onto no matter what. That nobody said it would be easy but the name of the game is to never give up. To hold your head high. To be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished. That life is tough but I am tougher! I've learned that motherhood is a great thing! That children are a gift from God no ma...Expand for more
tter how much they get on your last nerve. That children only stay small for such a short amount of time...so grab all the loving you can get before the teenage years get here.
I like to walk in the rain, watch old movies. I like the North Georgia Mountains in the fall....the smell of a fire in the crisp air, craft fairs, apple season, boiled peanuts. I like to motorcycle ride and see back roads America. Back roads America is where you find the good people that make up this country. I also like to feel the wind in my face and the salt on my skin as I stand next to the ocean as the tide comes in or goes out. Leaving me peaceful as I stand and watch the awesomeness of God's creation.
I'm blessed to be 58. To have retired from one good job and now have a second that I will retire from. To still have my mother with me. To have my brother and sisters well. To have great friends, family and extended family all over the United States.
I have to admit with a great smile.....that.....Grown-up life is great!!
