Terri's Story

Life Well, my life has been great. I married at 21, separated by 25 and formally divorced at 31. I have one child, a daughter who is the most fun person you'd want to be around. She's got a great sense of humor. I think she gets it from me :o). I am happy most of the time. I've got a great job working for Bank of America. I am a Facilitator. I have spent alot of my career in the training department doing a lot of different assignments. I think training/teaching was my calling. I also teach ROP for LA Unified School District. I teach Bank Teller at the Panorama City Branch on Saturdays. I have so much fun with the kids. They keep me young. I have a significant other. He's a great man! We've been together over 20 years. I love him dearly! I have 5 dogs, dachshunds; Sasha, Sadie, Julius, Kanii, and Sugar. They keep me laughing darn near all the time. I walk them and play with them. My sister Beth Bryant has been living in Atlanta 1987. I miss her but try every year to focus some of my vacation time on visiting her or us vacationing together somewhere. This year (2003) we are going to Washington DC and New York. I can't wait!! Workplace I started in banking as a place to work while going to school. I never dreamed it would turn into such a lucrative career. How fortunate was I? Anyway, I started working for Bank of America in 1976 at the Card Center in Pasadena. After about six months or so I transferred to the Walnut-Fair Oaks branch as a Utility Clerk. I did New Accounts, Note Department, Teller and Customer Service. ...Expand for more
In 1979 I gave birth to my Daughter and decided in 1980 to move on to Security Pacific National Bank. My Mom worked there and got me in. I started with Security in the Corporate Trust division. In 1982 I entered the Management Training Program with the bank and went back to the branch world. In 1984 I joined the Training department as an Instructor. I spent the next 5 years doing various jobs there. I love training. I think it is what I am supposed to do. I got to travel and learn all kind of wonderful things. In 1989 I left Security and went to a small independent bank in the San Fernando Valley. It's name; Independence Bank. I was there for exactly two years and decided to go back to Security Pacific Bank in 1991. I was there only one month when the merger with Bank of America was announced. Well I've gone full circle with my employer. I've been back now for 13 years and three mergers. I am in the Training department currently. I am a Facilitator (instructor) for our Small Business Contact Center. I supported the Commercial Service Center in Brea since 9/2002 through 3/2004. They are both telephone service centers. I have supported telephone centers for the past 11 years. The consumer centers and now Commercial and Small Business. This has been a totally challenging positon. And quite tiring I might add. The learning is non stop (that's what I love about it)! And my business partners are fabulous. I am now looking forward to retirement. I know I have quite a few years to go, but it remains a hopeful time in my minds eye.
