Terri's Story
I am now living in Philomath Oregon. My husband, Timon, and I have an acre of property. In 2004, we tore down a rental home that was built in 1979 and put up a manufactured home. We doubled our square footage, which was great! Philomath has about 4,600 residents so it is a lot different than living outside of DC. We are 50 miles from the coast. It is not unusual for us to jump in the truck and run over there for lunch, especially on stormy days just to see what the ocean looks like. Our closest major city is Portland OR. We go to concerts there from time to time. We have a very spoiled dog, Coco. She has her own futon to sleep on. We are in town, but we have a lot of wildlife in our yard. mon to see deer, racoons, possum, and our latest visitors is a flock of turkeys. The city officials decided they were a nuisance last year and shot 10 of them. Not to worry... after they shot six, there were 27 turkeys in our back yard. They roost in our oak grove most nights. They are fun to watch and we don't mind them hanging out in our yard.
While I only attended Lake Braddock in my freshman and senior years of high school, I have fond memories. Back in the day, we went to Largo MD for many concerts. The best one, by far, was Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. The band played a four and a half hour show and I was instantly a total Bruce fan. Also, going to Georgetown to see shows was always fun.
