Terri's Story
"I am destined to become a STAR." This is what I told myself when I graduated from AHS in 1979. I confidently marched off to Western Washington U in search of my dream. I graduated with a BA in Theatre, having had my share of fabulous roles throughout my school tenure. Still convinced stardom was awaiting, I applied for and was accepted into the MFA in Musical Theatre program at UC/Irvine.
REALITY CHECK. This industry isn't about talent, about work ethic, about commitment! This industry is about looks and connections, seeing and being seen. It's about being at the right parties, sleeping with the right people, taking the right drugs (it was, afterall, the mid-80's. I was not destined to become a star. I wasn't even destined to become a working actress - or a starving one, for that matter (although a little starving would have done me good).
I returned to Seattle, resumed working at a financial services company, and licked my wounds.

number of Seattle companies. Currently, I own my own business - an organization, training and performance development consultancy. I'm currently doing some work with Microsoft, PeopleFirm and the Effectiveness Institute. I love my work. And truthfully, can't even BEGIN to imagine myself as an actress these days!
I am married to Mr. Perfect (no, really), Doug Conner. (And I should know, because my FIRST husband was a real schlub. This is what I get for marrying the first guy who ever showed any interest in me. . .) We've been together for nearly a decade, and now live in lovely (drum roll, please) AUBURN, Washington!
I've lived throughout the Seattle/Eastside for most of the years since graduation, but moved back four years ago to be closer to my dad. At 86, he appreciates having someone close at hand, should he need anything. And truthfully, it's good to be here for him. . .
We live in Lakeland Hills, a development built long after our collective graduation. It's in the southend of Auburn, on the way to Sumner.
All told, life is good. Life is very good.
