Terrie's Story
I was quite shy in school. I met my husband the year I lost my younger brother in a hunting accident(1976). He graduated from our rival school Ed White he still gets harassed to this day. We clicked from the first date. Then, five years later we married. He has been and still is my best friends and soul mate. God has truly blessed meand my family. We have two sons. Sean born in 1983 ( He graduated from Forrest in 2002) and Ryan born in 1987. This past year (2007-2008) has been difficult for me. Both of my sons have been living out of the state (Florida) and let me tell you...if you have them still at home...don't complain to much because one day when you least expect it they are on their own and gone. I can tell you from experience empty nest syndrome has sucked for me! I miss them both, however I am ...Expand for more
very proud of both of them!
I worked full time until Ryan was born. When Ryan started kindergarten I went to work for the school board so I could be home with them when they were home. In May of 2000, I took a leave of absence from Duval County School Board ( I was teaching Pre-K at the time) due to my Mom being diagnosed with lung cancer. (She never smoked a day in her life.) She had surgery in May of 2000 and past away in 2001. She was buried on my oldest son's 18th Birthday.
Since then, I have maintained the position of Financial Manger and CEO of the McGauley household....other words retired.
Now, I am still trying to adjust to the boys being gone, I think I am doing better (haha)
Looking forward to 30th class reunion, however, my numbers don't add up...I must have been about 12 when we graduated.
