Life I have a great life. I'm married to a man who has a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. Life is good! My two kids are grown and married. My daughter lives nearby with my son-in-law and my only grandchild. My son and new daughter-in-law 60 miles away. I live in Murphys, CA with lots of open space and only one house in sight. I see deer almost every day, and I try not to notice how they eat my roses. It's hard to believe I grew up in San Francisco. 2007 will mark my third year of retirement from law enforcement. I can't believe how far that timid little girl from Visitation Valley has come. Not only did she graduate from a police academy at 37, she was the director of that same academy 16 years later. She was the first successful female police officer to work for the University of the Pacific, and then became the first female police sergeant at San Joaquin Delta College Police Dept. She's even a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Wow, I can't believe that was (and is) me! Retirement is great.
