Terry's Story

Life Still happily married to Lisa (no E). Sean is 42 now. I grew my beard back. Live on the NE side instead of Harmony Way now. In a condo! NO GRASS CUTTING! I like to sit on the stoop in the doorway of our sunroom, get semi drunk and mess with my raccoons. TADAH! Updated 8/27/07 We'll keep it simple. I didn't become an English and art teacher as I expected. Wound up married and a father instead. Ran a maintenance crew for a while, ran the head shop at Folz City for a while, drove the tour train at the zoo one summer, worked at the museum for several years, then got into the industrial pump business, where I've been since 1979. I was with my first wife for 23 years. We had three boys, all named John (Sean, Ian and Evan - look it up). Sean is my best friend. He is 36 this year (today! 8/27/07). Now I'm divorced from my second wife after not quite 12 years. I was only single twenty-four hours after the first divorce. Married the next day. The Warrick County Clerk told me the ink on my divorce decree wasn't dry. It was on the corner of her desk when I picked up the marriage license. Had to tell her because I was laughing so hard. Divorce took a freaking year. I didn't intend to let the last one stretch out that long (But it almost did. I just love lawyers). My first wife and I are still good friends. Not sure about the second yet, but she is a fine person. We just have differences. She I...Expand for more
S an English teacher at USI. I'm trying to get back into my poetry and writing, but having a hard time. I met Leisa at the Ropewalk Writer's Retreat in New Harmony. So, anyway, there's my life. (Previous Update from January, 2007). I am no longer puzzled so much by this interesting thing called living, and have met someone I had ceased to believe existed. I'm headed in new directions, with renewed beliefs. Wrote a few new poems in the last year, read them with Bill Sovern's Tuesday Night Poetry Group. Need to write more, of course. I've been a little busy getting to know this new Lisa. Yes. Lisa. No E. I believe she and I are re-uniting after several lifetimes apart. I know those eyes. I've been looking for them my entire life. I saw something in them the night I met her, and she knew me, though we are not "each other's types." We both decided to change types. And the latest news: Lisa and I are getting married September 15, 2007. We're walking in The Race for the Cure the next day. I'm part of Lisa's Dean Bosler's team.(If you haven't pledged, please do. It's a very good cause.)Then we're scampering home to grab our bags and hit the airport. Lisa is going to show me white sand beaches and blue water for the first time in my life. I've seen the ocean twice before at Hilton Head, SC and in Maine, but this will be the farthest south I've ever gone. She says I'll get to see manatees. ;-)
