Terry's Story

I hope old friends remember me fondly or at least not badly. I always wanted to be a adult when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a outstanding idea. As it turns out, they were right. Based on my high school antics, I think graduating might have been the wildest thing I ever did in school. To blow of steam I read, do photography, photoshop, cook, remodel,or just vegetate. My hero, I guess my father and a lot of other people I meet throughout my life. I live in Bellevue, Washington just east of Seattle. I'm not sure why I moved here, just circumstances I guess. No obsessions. Lots of activities though. I don't think I ever thought about how my life would turn out when I was in school. I hasn't turned out bad. I'd like to have a little more money, but wouldn't everybody. I ended up working at something I enjoyed. I have a couple of nice sons and I am with a woman I adore. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel a little and add on a room. My dream home would be in the boondocks.. My kids taught me. Don't smoke funny plants. Teachers I'd like to see again: Lenny Weiss, Photo Club Advisor Harry Bersch(sp?), Gym Teacher. So I could kick him in the ass. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to sons, then spend the rest on travel, a nice home and any thing else that struck my fancy. I know I'm supposed to say charity or my fellow man. I would probably do that too, but just saying it between commas seems like a cop out. Never was in a fraternity or lived in a dorm. I don't think I am that unhappy, so I'm not sure what would make me happier. Maybe total financial se...Expand for more
curity and to be able to travel more. I would mind loosing some of the 67 year old aches and pains I have. My current age is 67. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be older than dirt. I was so completely right. Semi-retired. My career aspiration is to completely retire. Joan Barley was my first crush. We were in the first grade and we used to sneak into the cloakroom and kiss (no tongue). She move away to another state. Every time I hear a train whistle I think of her. I'm not even sure she went by train. My best friend would tell you I'm smart, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as not so smart. My dress code: jeans, a tee shirt and a baseball cap. I share my home with girlfriend, which I find great. Do-overs: anticipate the "dot com" bust. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by staying alive. Oldest friend: A guy named John Zumdieck. We worked together as engineers. John was brilliant with numbers and analysis and I wasn't too bad at conceptualizing. We made a good team. John also felt it necessary to help me correct all my little failings. One of which was my inability to take constructive criticism, if I objected to his comments. Childhood memory: When I was about 10 years old I was staying with my grandmother in Crystal Beach, Ontario. She was about 70 years old at that time. She said, "I'd like have a companion to live with me" and I said, "That would be nice, some little old lady to keep you company". She snapped back, "Little old lady hell, little old man." At 67 and I can see her point a lot better now.
