Terry Fischer - Jackson:  

I met my husband Ron in January 1969 as a blind date. He was introduced to me by my dear late friend Julia Googe.. He graduated from York High School, and was in the Navy stationed at Norfolk back then. We got married my senior year in October '69 before he was deployed overseas for a year. Through the years we stayed mostly on the Peninsula, Hampton, Newport News and Williamsburg and 5 years in Gloucester. We had a family of 3 girls and 1 boy and I now have 8 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter who is almost 2 years old. My husband passed away in November 2002. We had 33 very happy years together, and I am thankful for that. I now understand why I met him and married him at such a young age,! I do believe everything happens for a reason. In high school I had big dreams of being an Interpreter at the United Nations, this is why I took both Spanish and German classes. Instead I met my husband, got married and did not pursue that dream. I have no regrets and I would not change a thing! I understand now that life doesn't always go as planned but you always get what you need. Lif...Expand for more
