Terry's Story
Life
I was trying to think of how to be brief with all that has gone on since the last reunion, but even that would be too much - so I will just stick with some high-lights :-)
Judi and I got married 9/14/2002 (Judi came up with me to the last reunion). Judi doesn't have any children, but we hope to have one next year (yes, I know that sounds crazy, but why not!).
Judi trains horses, etc. so we now have a 10 ac place in Lincoln (about 30 min north of Sacramento). The place has an indoor arena with a 30 horse stall barn - oh and a home too :-) Judi (well me too by default) has about 40 horses, plus all the client horses - so we are quite busy. I do all the fence building and maintenance during hours I don't work my job. Judi also breeds and trains dogs (Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds), so we are busy with that too. We have a male and 2 females of each (plus a "retired" shepherd), so we have 7 big dogs to feed and clean-up poop! We currently have a litter of each roughly 4 weeks old (17 puppies total) and will have an other litter of each again around Christmas. We also have goats, chickens, ducks, cats etc - a petting zoo. I am learning to do web sites to help with Judi's business: Sterling Silver Equine
I still work for California Dept of Fish and Game as a steelhead biologist. Mostly I am in a cubicle analyzing data, writing reports, writing and managing contracts, and ...Expand for more
on the phone, but several times a year I get paid to fish for trout and steelhead! It is a great job for paying bills, providing stable income and benefits, and flexibility for family life - but I look forward to retiring from the political nightmares involved. Been with DFG for 14 years now.
The kids: Chris is 18 and just graduated from HS - no clue what he will do next. He is 6'3" and a phenomenal musician with drums, piano and some guitar. Ashlyn is nearly 14 and we are home schooling her for her 8th grade year. She is an excellent horse rider and has done very well with some horse shows (English Jumping, etc) with Judi, and wants to start doing some western stuff too. Karlee is 10 and in 5th grade. She loves horses too, but mostly playing with the toys yet. Both daughters are incredible students, are beautiful and love to love. I am Blessed!
Judi and I also work a lot with our church with children and are developing "our own" ministries for youth her on the ranch - ultimately like a Christian Youth Camp atmosphere. Lots more work, but God seems to keep blessing us with strength and energy to do what we feel we are called to do.
We try and fit in some recreation and vacations. Hopefully I can report on a bunch of that stuff at the next reunion - which we wont miss!
Please tell everybody hi from me. I will miss downing some cool ones with everybody.
God Bless! Terry
