Terry Lee's Story
Well, I was working fulltime already when I graduated from FCHS. I was known to all as simply Terry Moore. I moved to FCHS the beginning of my sophmore year and it wasn't a smooth transition. I had been an athlete at my previous High School playing on the Tennis Team. Played volleyball, was a gymnast, and a member of
the pep squad,I ran track, I however did not compete..it was good exercise though...My brother was a great sprinter and ran the mile as well, he was on Maconaquah's Freshman Track Team and played Football as well as a quarterback. My 1st year at FC was mostly a nightmare! However, my Jr. & Sr. year were a blast and I had quite a few really good friends. Several of which graduated in 1979, we had fun!
I never did get into sports again., I always wished that I had, I got into volunteer work, then got hired on working with geratric patients and since those old loves stole my heart, sports just didn't fit in anymore...but I learned how to paint, make jewelry, sew, etc. and am quite the crafter on a good day. I persued
my dream to work in Medicine, and did not quite reach the goals that I had set out to as I broke my neck at 19yo, I was coming home from work and got hit by a drunk driver, I never totally recovered my balance and strength physically or emotionally after that, It scarred me in a lot of ways..I am definitely an avid supporter of MADD, & due to the stress of neck muscle problems and Panic Attacks, I gave up a lot...only to fight back with the help of good good freinds and family and then as life would have it, .....
by age 25 I developed Fibromyalgia and
a bone disease that primarily affects my spine. Thus I've had 3 spine surgeries, the last one in 2003, which landed me in spinal rehab for 5 months. The surgeries always cure one thing but create another, I am thankful though for the years surgery has given me with my loved ones and with my legs. I still walk with great effort, and use my wheelchair, when that is just too much. As I lose weight, I know that I will do better and better...........I have too, for my husband and my son, and to take care of my ageing parents. I promised my sister after our brother passed away a few weeks ago, that I would take great care of my health, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and she promised me as well. Pray for her, as she has Lu...Expand for more
pus and fights to stay healthy and she is
my baby sister no matter how old and wrinkly she gets. (ha ha) My spine
disease process continues; but surgery gave me increased function. I am happily married 25 years and have one child. My son is 18 and an angel sent from God to touch the world..He is an amazing artist, and a loving, giving, person. Tidy, respectful, and dealing with the everyday challenges of living with Mild CP, Autism, Severe
seizures (mostly controled by meds.) He was just announced to be in full remission from Aplastic Anemia. I've waited 2 long years to hear that!! I also am an avid reader, LOVE my
LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!, and am also unable to work any longer
due to my diseased spine. I hope to get strong enough to return to work in the next year or two, this is a heart set goal. I am VERY determined!! Losing so much mobility made staying in shape almost impossible, however I have found new things that I love doing that burns fat and calories and is cardio, just not "dancercising"
ALL in All, my life is full and filled with so much joy, I really can't complain. I pray that this series of facts about me finds you all happy, safe and well too.
If anyone needs prayers...I am a prayer warrior as well!!
Much Love and God Bless!
Terry (terilee)Moore)Jordan.
My answer to the story wizard question:
My favorite way to relax..getting a massage, and listening so soft music.,or the sound of the ocean, or softly falling rain.
The next questioned I pondered upon was not at all difficult to answer, I have that money spent:
If I won $100 million, I'd give 1,000,000.00 of it to the Lupus Foundation, then spend the rest on Buying 30 Acres, Building a huge multifunctional group home for young adults with Autism and other Delelopemental Disablities and Teach them to run a small farm, raise horses, and run a successfull business right from their home and givng back, by volunteering in the community, gee....I could go on and on about my desire to may this dream a reality!.
UPDATE August 2009
On the upside of my otherwise insideout-upsidedown, frilly, exciting
life, I've decided to join weightwatchers in person, I need the accountability of the scale person to make me sweat! LOL In the last 6 months and three weeks I have lost 69 pounds...yep...count'em...69 big ones and still going strong!!!
