Terry Massey:

CLASS OF 1974

Terry's Story

Life I married my High School Sweetheart, Renita Richardson, in 1976. In '78 our first daughter, Shannan was born on Christmas day. I think she's always been bitter about having to share her birthday with Christmas...oh well, I tried to warn Renita but she just would not listen. We lived and worked in Joplin until 1981 when we moved to Dallas to begin a career. It was while managing a copier dealership here that I decided I wanted to be in business for myself. What a ride that's turned out to be! In 1983 we had our second daughter, Shelley. By the way, our girls are a complete reflection of Renita & I. They both get their great looks, talent, charm, and of course, extreme sense of modesty from me; they got thier brains and common sense from their mother. In 1986, I started a business providing specialty printers, software and peripherals to very niche markets (label & vinyl printers, sign & banner printers, plastic card & id printers, etc. - pretty boring stuff) In 2000, our business was listed as the leading provider of photo id card printers to the education market world-wide! Business Solutions magazine even put me on the cover of their April issue! Can you believe it? Me on the cover of a business magazine? Most of you probably thought I would surface on America's Most Wanted! Through the years our business has flourished thanks to good people, honesty and hard work. I am quite thankful for everything and everyone in my life. In 1999 & 2002, our oldest daughter, Shannan, (who also married her High School sweetheart) presented us with two awesome grandsons. God, I am too young for this! I promised revenge by pledging to teach the boys every bad habit I know! However, it is kinda cool when I take them to the store and stuff, they ARE chick magnets! 2004 marks the four...Expand for more
th year our youngest daughter, Shelley, has spent her summer abroad. She is a senior at Baylor and has traveled to England, Mexico, Nepal, and Indonesia, primarily focusing work studies and missions. Renita & I both enjoy traveling as well. Our business has given us the opportunity to visit places we never dreamed we would go. Australia, Maui and Kaui have been our favorites so far. We live in the small, rural community of Mansfield, TX, just south of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. While at home, I enjoy riding my Harley and playing golf. I look like your typical biker on the weekends and your typical business guy during the week. Renita spends her spare time around horses. She volunteers at an equestrian center that provides theraputic riding for handicapped children (sounds like a Miss America candidate, huh?) She has recently purchased a horse, truck and trailer so of course we are now in the market for a ranch. (somebody shoot me!) We both enjoy getting away from the hectic big city life to our lake home in East TX, where there is always something to build, clean or repair. But we mostly spend our time there sleeping, fishing, sleeping, eating and just sleeping. It's great. We are active in our church and try to stay healthy - Renita does a better job of that than I do. All in all, I couldn't have painted a better picture for my life so far. Yep, there have been some serious bumps in the road along the way, but those bumps pail in comparison when I look at the things I have: The love of a good woman, Forgiveness from a forgiving God, Children who love me, Employees who fear me (not really) True, steadfast friends, A solid work ethic, Not too serious an outlook on life, And a little luck. Whodathunkit? I hope all of your dreams come true as well. Happy Trails, Mass
