Terry's Story

Well, for anyone looking - Went to Norton High School in Norton, MA and then moved to California between 10th and 11th grade. Became a Nerd, Surfer, Jock there and graduated Summa Cum Nothing!! Went to college for about 2 months and decided that wasn't for me, so I started working full time and had a blast until everything (substances, partying) caught up and I went into the Navy. Learned to operate a nuclear power plant (the substances hadn't kicked in yet!!) and went to sea on big old submarines. Got married in 1982, had a kid in 1986. Got out of the Navy briefly from 1986-1987 to work in computers and then joined back up again when I realized I missed the camaraderie. Went to sea for another couple of years, had a beautiful baby girl and then finally got shore duty in Orlando, FL where the evil witch of the Southeast (my ex-mother-in-law) decided to disassemble my marriage. We had another beautiful baby girl and I made Chief. I finished up the shore duty and reported to the next boat and my dear wife decided to seperate from me. We reconciled in about 3 months and she came to live in Connecticut, but it was rocky from there out!! In 1998, I decided that the marriage was on the rocks and that if I was going to save it, I'd have to leave the Navy (bad idea). Do you realize, that if you don't retire, you get NOTHING!! Oh well. I got a great paying job at Spectrace in California as the East Coast Service Rep, only we were a small service department and ended up travelling all over the country. The evil em...Expand for more
pire, ThermoElectron, stepped in and bought us and started a series of business maneuvers that would leave whatever companies it started with screaming for mercy and without any employees that were there when it started. Needless to say, my job went from about 3 days on the road to about 5 days (sometimes more) on the road. Well, that was it for my marriage and like a putz, I didn't fight the witch that was my wife and lost everything - cars, house money (eventually job!!) - everything was gone (the lawyers ended up getting most of it - stupid woman!!) I stayed on with ThermoElectron until I couldn't afford to live and pay expenses anymore and then they canned me. Sounds terrible so far, huh?!? Down but not quite out, I got a job as an auto salesman and then subsequently got into a startup analytical instrument company. All the while I was honing my Internet Marketing skills and having numerous grand ideas. I worked for the startup as a technician/field service guy for 2 and a half years and then got my present job as a National Support Specialist for X-ray fluorescence. Sounds technical, but it's really just looking up parts for everybody and telling them what we think is wrong with their machines!! The best part of all of this is that I met Lyn, my wife, (you'd think we would learn after the first one) and I am building my own business (Northeastern Liquidators) where we buy liquidation equipment and resell it through our Internet Outlets. We live in Woonsocket, Rhode Island (for now) and we're easy to find.
