Terry's Story
Greetings all,
Well, we're not as young nor are we as wise as we thought we were when we were 18. But, life has been good. I'm a CPA by trade, have my own business, albeit a small practice. I did work for many years with a CPA firm, but when my boss retired, I went on my own. Since I literally hate the 9-5, M-F routine, I decided that I would work enough to pay the bills and then spend time doing the fun things in life. Why wait until one retires? I really wasn't able to do this until my 40's, but what the heck! Of course, as an accountant, during tax season the hours are more of a 24-7 work week, but later in the year I'm able to work maybe two weeks of the month, then do the things I really enjoy. ...Expand for more
My whole family loves to snow ski, whitewater kayak and bicycling. If it's outdoors, I love it. I'm president of a non-profit organization called Kern Valley River Council, through which we not only host local, national and international whitewater races (slalom and wildwater), but also do major environmental work regarding the Kern River.
Even though I've lived most of my life in Canoga Park, I do not run into very many old classmates from Class of '68. Has everyone moved away? Of course there is also the memory problem. I know I definitely don't look the same, so I figure everyone else has morphed into other shapes and figures, also. Oh well, that's life! I hope everything has gone well for all of you, too!
