Terry's Story

If anyone wants to contact me, I love to hear from long-lost friends and acquaintances, but please don't send me a message here. I have let my membership to this site lapse for the time being, so I cannot read any messages that are sent to me. Please try to message me on Facebook or add me as a friend there. You can also send me an e-mail at vegasdj at embarqmail dot com. Thank you. Life I left high school in November '84 and started taking classes at PCC the following semester. I enlisted in the Army Reserve in April 1986, and spent nine months in South Carolina and Georgia for training. Upon returning from active duty I moved into an apartment in South Pasadena, and went to work for a company in Garden Grove renting and selling equipment to nightclubs, mobile DJs, auditoria, etc. Another couple of months after starting there, I also accepted a position as the DJ in the dance club in the Newport Beach Marriott on Fashion Island. I was laid up for several months due to a spinal fracture when my motorcycle was hit by a car from behind in '88. To take it easy on my back, I took the position of technical manager of the Chuck E. Cheese's in Pasadena. Within a few months, I was able to also get back into club DJ work and began working for Reuben's (mainly the Arcadia location), Excess in Glendale, R.J. Grin's in the Glendale Red Lion, The Palace in Hollywood, and Glam Slam in Downtown L.A. I was married on January 28, 1995, and my wife and I moved to Las Vegas the following April. We have two beautiful daughters who were born in 2000 and 2005. Workplace I left high school in November '84 and started taking classes at PCC the following semester. 1986. When I returned from active duty I went to work renting and selling professional sound and lighting equipment for a company in Garden Grove, while concurrently working as a DJ in a nightclub in Newport Beach, as well as building my mobile DJ company. In 1989, I became the technical manager for Chuck E. Cheese's in Pasadena. I was with them for about three years, the last six months of which were spent in Granada Hills. I left Chuck E. Cheese's to concentrate on my increasing mobile and nightclub business. Things went okay with the mobile DJ business, but in 1994 I closed the company for several reasons and decided to leave the shady nightclub business, too. After relocating to Las Vegas in 1995, I found a position in a home theater installation company, then went to the MGM Grand Garden Arena concert venue and MGM Grand Conference Center as an audio technician/stagehand. I eventually also started doing mobile DJ work again for weddings and other private events, and opened another DJ company. I then went to work as a manager for a go-kart/amusement park as a favor to a friend who is the general manager of the place. After five years of that nonsense, I left the park to accept a position as an event technology specialist in the convention center of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Mostly because of the effects of the spinal cord injuries that I suffered in 1988 and 2007, which are becoming worse as I age, I decided to retire from professional employment in April, 2014. I am considering becoming a professional historian by trying to publish a book or two regarding some aspect or subject of the Second World War, but as of yet, I am not considering any definite plans or ideas.
