Terry's Story
After school I pursued a career in art in some form or another. I went to Rocky Mountain School of Art for awhile. During that time I worked as a busboy at Simm's Landing, Celebrity Sports Center in the bowling department, where I met my future wife Sue. I transferred from Celebrity,(owned by Disney at that time) to Disneyland just to check out California. I spent a summer of hell working as a dishwasher. (Worse job of my life!)
I came back to Denver, worked in the camera department at Western Cine, a film lab in Denver. Then I read an article in the paper about Don Bluth, and a bunch of animators at D...Expand for more
isney that left and formed Don Bluth Productions. I contacted them and got accepted as an apprentice on their first film, "The Secret of Nimh". What a dream job that was for me! Getting paid to draw cartoons! I got married, moved out to L.A. to work on "The Secret of Nimh", "Dragon's Lair", "Space Ace", "An American Tail" and "The Land Before Time". Then I went to Disney for awhile, started our own Entertainment Company in 1988, where we create and produce entertainment properties. We adopted a little girl in 1999, and...... that's it in a nutshell!
