Terry's Story
It seems as though I've gone full circle. Let me explain.
I was born and grew up in Copley, then bought a house and moved to Clinton in 1983. In 1987 I met my wife Claudia and we married in '88. After my Dad passed away in 1991 we moved back to the house I grew up in and we raised our family here.
I attended Copley-Fairlawn schools the entire time I was growing up and eventually completed a career(?) as a head custodian at.......Copley-Fairlawn schools (I retired in 2013). Between high school and starting my long career I worked short stints at Arby's at Rolling Acres Mall (both of which are gone) and as a custodian at Westminster Presbyterian Church in west Akron.
So now you know what I mean by "full circle": I came back to Copley both as a home...Expand for more
owner and to work for 33 years at the same place I went to school.
The past 40 years haven't been glamourous, and no....I haven't traveled the world. It could be I'm leaving out stuff someone else would find interesting - even fascinating, although it may be something I find ordinary. If you look up the definition of 'stability', you might find a picture of me.
These past several years I've grown tired of rock music and developed a liking for old swing music, particularly jazz swing from the WWII years through the mid-1960s. Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Patti Page and Dean Martin made some beautiful songs. Even some you wouldn't expect - Bobby Darin, Joanie Sommers, Paul McCartney and Petula Clark - made wonderful swing stuff.
