Terry's Story

After I graduated from EHS, I attended MSU. I got my BBA and I worked for the IRS. I know....thats a lot of letters. Any way, in 1985, I met my husband and you arent going to believe who he was. He was the Pastor of our church in Harrold. Thats right! I became a ministers wife. I know that you are having a hard time believing it but its true. We moved from TX to MN in 1988. I really miss Texas. Its just so cold here. Just before we left TX we had our first daughter, Julia Ann Rusert. We had the second of our two beautiful daughters in 1990. Her name is Robyn Marie Rusert. Soon I will be suffering from the dreaded "empty nest" syndrome, because Robyn will graduate from High School in May 2009. Robyn loves TX so much that she will be moving in with her Aunt Sherry and Uncle Alan in Wichita Falls and attending MSU next fall. I am going to miss her very much. Julia graduated in 2006. We only had her home for about a week after graduation when she left for Basic training. She is a medic in The National Guard. She will be heading to Iraq to work in a hospital in July 2009. Yes, I am terrified about that and am going to be broken hearted to see her go for a year. She is beautiful and tiny. Shes only 5'3' and about 100 lbs. Right now she lives in Winona, MN (about 3 hrs from us) where she is going to school to become a nurse....Expand for more
At the same time, she works for Sprint. She is a very busy girl. Please look at my photos to see my girls. Im so proud of them. So I guess you can tell that my life has been pretty much centered on God first and then my daughters. Other than that, I enjoy coming home to TX about once a year to see my family. Im sure once Robyn is there, I will go more often. I quit working outside the home after the girls were born. Then when Julia was in Preschool I started working in the day care center in the school that she went to. That way I could work and still be with the kids. I quit right after Robyn started 1st grade. Then I started working for an Optometrist in 1999. Im an Optometric Assistant. I love working there. Another change in my life came in 1996, when my father died of pancreatic cancer. It was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. I know that hes happier and that I will see him again someday. But we really miss him. My mom remarried after a few years and has moved to the McAllen area. She married a minister too. My father-in-law was a minister and my brother-in-law is a minister. Im surrounded by them. I guess God figured that I needed a lot of help.:) Well, I hope I havent bored you with my life too much. I dont live a really exciting one, which is ok with me. Id love to hear from any of you.
