Thelbert's Story
After high school, I attended Louisburg College, transferred to N.C.State, then to Gaston College in Gastonia, NC. Went to work for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Retired from GDOT after 34 years and now do some part time consulting work for a small engineering firm. We still live in the Atlanta, GA area. Before graduating from Gaston College, I married Anne Parsons of Henderson and we have two daughters, Claire Bailey of Spartanburg, SC. Ahe and her husband Mike have one daughter, Sarah who was born on my birthday and will be 11 in September. esent in the back seat observing with interest, and Benjamin (14), who has the distinction of being our only grandson.
Anne and I have been square dancing and Round Dancing for over 30 years and teaching Round Dancing for the past 14 or 15 years. Between working part time, teaching and cueing round dancing or attending educational clinics and attending dance recitals, band concerts, horse back riding events, or ball games, we like to read and occassionally I will cut the grass or trim a bush. From Thanksgiving until Christmas, I help St. Nick by visitibg various day-care centers, elementary schools, couple of churches and an occassional business Christmas party. So if you see me at the reunion in August, I may look like I forgot to shave or get a haircut. Well that's probably more information than you wanted to read, so I'll stop.
