Theodore's Story
Life
He is currently an Architectural Strategist for the Microsoft Corporation. Prior to Microsoft, he was VP of R&D for MongoMusic were he directed all aspects of machine listening, signal processing research and intellectual property management. Microsoft purchased MongoMusic in 2000. Prior to MongoMusic, Inc, he was the Audio Architect at Apple Computer Inc. where he worked on future audio architectures for OS9 and OSX. Prior to Apple he was the VP of Engineering for Spatializer Audio Labs, Inc and has held DSP Engineering positions at firms such as digidesign, Crystal River Engineering and National Semiconductor Inc. us articles in leading audio magazines and has presented several technical papers at conferences for the Audio Engineering Society. Tanner also sits on the Executive Technical Review Committee for the International Conference on Signal Processing Applications and Technology (ICSPAT). He is also on the Technical Advisory Board for DSP World. Tanner also has held vice chair and committee positions with the San Francisco AES chapters. He holds a Master of Science in Music Engineering from the University of Miami and has taken post graduate courses at various universities including Stanford, Berkeley and UC Davis. He is a member of the AES,ASA and IEEE.
