Theresa's Story
On September 27, 1969 I married Roger Doughty. We lived in Red Bank till September 1971 until we moved to Boston Massachusetts. We lived in the Back Bay area near the "Boston Conservatory of Music" where Roger was attending. In 1972 we moved to Quincy Massachusetts. As things go, we married too young and we separated in April of 73 and divorced. We had no children.
In 1973 I met Ed Burke. We married March 4, 1978 and we have one son, Alexander who was born in 1986.
Ed is an Senior Electrical Engineer with HDR in Ann Arbor Michigan. Because of his profession, we have moved around the country to a great many places. In fact, to date, we have moved 28 times.
We have an apartment in Ann Arbor Michigan and a condo in Valparaiso Indiana. When Ed retires, we will make Valparaiso our permanent home.

When I am in Valparaiso, there are different activities that I try to get involved in, when the weather is good. Starting in the Spring I hope to have a garden of flower and vegetables on my small balcony that faces the west. In the winter is when I catch up on reading, mostly mysteries and detective stories. I enjoy riding my bicycle for one or two miles trips in the Spring and Fall. When I am in Ann Arbor, I do more walking, watching TV, knitting and crocheting, and going to outdoor farmers’ markets.
Recently I reconnected with some friends that I haven’t seen in 45 years. I am planning on a trip back to Red Bank in September 2014. When I travel, I prefer trains to planes. I meet a lot of interesting people this way and get to see more of our country. This trip will take me on buses, trains, and ferries.
I still have family in New Jersey: a sister and her husband in Freehold, and four nieces and one nephew in various other cities.
