Theresa's Story

Hi! It's been a lot of years. Steve and I celebrated our 45th Anniversary in late July. We have two sons, Steve Jr., age 44 and Patrick, age 39. Both are married: Steve to Ayana and Patrick to Heather Polinsky. Steve and his family are now living in Portland, Ore. A good job opportunity for Steve. He is a Design Engineer. Ayana is an Accountant for a nonprofit organization providing services for Native Americans. They have given us two wonderful grandchildren, Stevie III who is 16 and Sheree who is 11. They love Portland and are looking forward to calling it home from now on. We are so happy for them but miss seeing our grandkids. Both families bought homes last summer where I imagine they will live for many years to come. Patrick and Heather live in Alma, MI, (Middle of the mitten!) Patrick works as a producer and an on-air broadcaster at a radio station in Saginaw. Heather is an associate professor at Central MI University, where Patrick got his BA and MA. She got her doctorate from MI State a few years ago and received her tenure. She teaches all aspects of broadcasting, all things technical, historical, current rules, regs. and laws. She also has to keep on top of a...Expand for more
ll of the new equipment and technology coming our way. "Our daughter-in-law", Dr. Polinsky!" And now she is the president of the CMU Teacher's Union. Heather brought our first granddog to the famly. His name was Ross, part husky and german shepard and we all loved him. Sadly he passed away in 2006. But we now have Heinz (named for the Steelers Stadium). He is a black lab mix and still a very busy, lively puppy. And in the last few years she and Patrick got a big old Tom Cat, named Chief after old Mr. Rooney and a shelter pup, a girl this time named Trenni, which also has something to do with the Steelers. All family members are fanatics about the Steeler's and Penn State. Heather grew up in PA and is as big a fanatic as we are about the Steeler's. Most of us are still huge Penn State fans, for which we get a lot of grief, since we live 10 minutes from the Big House, home of the U of M Wolverines. Even our street signs are in maize and blue. Patrick must be missing the Penn State gene as he and Ayana (who were both born in MI) are huge MI fans. We don't know about Heather; she was raised a Pitt fan?! More later, about Steve and I and what we've been up to low these many years.
