Theresa's Story
Life
October 16, 2006: I am a Kindergarten Teacher for Carson, L.A.U.S.D. I have 19 students. I taught at Wilminton Jr. High in 1996. I have a son, Victor (13) and a beautiful daughter, Catalina Isabella (8). Victor and Cat are in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
I married my High School Sweetheart, Jose Chavez (1992). We have been married for Fourteen years. We live in Long Beach by the airport. We own a boat and I had my own horse, Dakota Dancer, before the kids were born.
I love Hollywood! 3 people in our home are in THE BUSINESS. Jose is currently in a U.S. Cellular Commerical: he is David Sanchez, a business owner on the East Coast. Yes, ladies, he is still HOT!!! His Agent is William Morrison. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX My little sister, Monica Flores, married her high school sweet heart, Anthony Lozano, both from Banning. My mom and dad were Banning Sweet hearts, too. Jose, my son,daughter and I were in the wedding (Aug 7). XXXXX Talk about a close call, we went to Florida on Aug 12 (Thurs) and Hurricane Charley hit on Aug 13th. We just missed it. We left on the Disney Cruise Ship. In Nassau, the port was full because all cruise ships were docked there to ride out the Hurricane. Returned on Sun. What damage. However, we did Disney World: Epcot, MGM studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom (including swimming with the sharks at Typhoon Lagoon). We rode Mission to Mars at Epcot. We went to Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (my kids think am cool now) XXXXXX My NOW picture was taken on the Disney Cruise ship. Ofcouse I was pigging-out.
School
I hated High School. I had no plans after Graduation. I went to Harbor College, I had 3 majors. I was a teacher's aide for kindergarten at that time and said I CAN DO THIS... After my AA Degree. I...Expand for more
transfered to Dominguez Hills ( worked 3 jobs at that time - Taco Bell, Teacher's Aide, and The Chicken Store across the street from the Jr. High). Me gots me BA in Libral Arts. Me gots me Clear Cred. in Elm. teach nows. Me is a teacher. Which, scares the hell out of me.... I am very shy. and those kids don't hold back.. To this day I still love Taco Bell and I can cut a whole chicken in 10 sec. flat... So don't make me angry, Jose!!!
I have a sense of humor. I have to in my line of work: I am in a room full of 5-year olds. Oh, God, I'm a role-model.
Workplace
I am a Kindergarten Teacher for L.A.U.S.D. My classroom is my office. I love my 19 students. I have been a Kindergarten Teacher starting in 1991 for Compton Unified. And yes I was in Compton by the court house when the 1992 RIOTS broke out. I was driving in my V.W. Ghia (convertible top down) when I noticed all the fires around me. It was an interesting ride home. This event truly changed my life. Imagine being a women smack in the middle of a riot... I have enough to write a book.
I know during the riots.. I got my gun (Yes, Jose bought and trained me how to use it years before) and went to my mom's work in Wilmington. She worked in a bank on Avalon Blvd. I sat in the lobby and watched the crowd gather outside ...it was like THEY were waiting for someone to make their move.. Throw a rock, lite a match, I dont know what was the trigger. Just don't move Theresa wacth that door. It begged her boss to close the bank and get out. I sat with that gun hidden in my hand..I was waiting for the crowd to bust in...I would shoot, grab mom, and run like I did in Compton. Where was Jose??? He was in his business on PCH with a shot gun: pointing at anyone who came in the driveway. He slept there. Loot and Burn was the name of the game.
