Theresa's Story
Life
Except for 2 years when I lived on the river in Liberty Hill SC, I have lived in Lancaster since we graduated. I have been married to my husband Steve since 2001. Unfortunately, I never had any children of my own, but I still love children as much as I did in high school. I am a step-grandmother of three girls, who are the children of Steve's son. I have worked as a staff accountant at Douglas C Burnette PA for the past 21 years. My husband and I love to travel, especially on our motorcycle (he drives, I sleep). After taking several classes a semester while working during the day, I graduated from USC-L in May 2003 with a AS in Business.
What did I do to celebrate my 50th birthday? For my 40th birthday, I traveled to France with my youngest brother to visit family (my father was born in France). Kinda hard to top visiting Paris and the Eif...Expand for more
fel Tower, the Louvre museum, etc. So I thought, what would no one expect me to do?....I know, get a tattoo. So I did. It's place of honor is on my back at my right shoulder. It's a picture of a young girl sitting on a crescent moon dreaming of what life could be. I used my youngest niece's face for the girl. I chose it to remind me that though our life may not always turn out as we dreamed it would, it can be and is good.
Now, I do like to use my life experiences to learn new things so here are the three things I learned about getting a tattoo:
1) Specify the size you want......(mine in about the size of my hand) - not always the best size for your first experience;
2) Unscented Lubriderm is my new best friend;
3) I am much better as (and in the future will be) an observer than a participant.
Now what can I do to top this for my 60th?
