Theresa's Story
Hello:
Since high school, I have definitely had a most interesting life and the journey just seems to be getting more exciting. I am a Registered Nurse by background and I currently work as a Professor in the College of Nursing at a local university during the Fall & Spring semesters and as a health care management consultant during the summer months. I am currently working to finish my doctorate (which right now feels like my own personal "Mt. Everest") and I am hoping that I will be able to persevere, as it truly feels like one of the greatest challenges I have ever experienced. When I finish (hopefully!), I will graduate with a PhD in Health Care Administration & Global Health Policy in 2010.
I love to travel and one of my favorite activities is to scuba dive. In fact, I seek the chance to get under water as often as possible. I have three sons (Chad, Chase & Clay) and two stepsons (Evan & Logan). Yes, all boys! So there is lots of testosterone in our home which can make things crazy and very funny at times. They are all my pride and joy and their ages range between 16 to 26 years. Chad, my oldest son, is a Captain in the Army and he recently returned home from a 16 month tour in Baghdad, Iraq. Our family is especially proud of him for his willingness to serve our country. I am also remarried to a wonderful man who serves as the District Attorney in our area and we are proud that he was recently re-elected to serve for another 6 years.
I would love to hear from anyone from Lamar High School. While some of those years were really challenging (which is typical of the teen years), I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to experience it there. I would not be who I am now if not for many of the fellow students who impacted my life in such a profound way. I can honestly say, that I am a better person because of several of my LHS classmates and it is those memories that will always stay with me. Thanks.
