Theresa's Story
I am a group leader for a self-help group in Winston Salem, NC for Multiple Sclerosis. This group was formed in December 2007. Our group is Leaps and Bounds. The group is open
to MS patients, there family, friends, employers and
who ever else would like to know how to live, love, and
achieve a positive position in life, and focus on care
giving for MS. We meet on the 2st/4rd Monday of the
month at 10am to 12pm. I want to help people with MS achieve a positive out look and realize that we are only limited by our own choices.
Most of my days are spent in front of my computer writing to legislators about the disability laws. I am a passionate advocate for both physically and mentally challanged individuals.
I am confined to a wheel chair but, I run a support group, volunteer at the NC MS Socie...Expand for more
ty, Make quilts for the homeless, the orpahnages and the needy. I translate in Spanish and Polish for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
I am happily married to the world's most understanding, supportive and wonderful man for 20 years. I had 3 children, all deceased. My last living child Johnathan was 28 when he passed away from Terminal Cancer. He was married to a wonderful young woman named Laura Toler and was blessed with 1 daughter and 2 step son's.
I miss him very much, unfortunaely, as parents we never realize what a wonderful and amazing adult our children become. He was a great husband, father and friend.
I have several poems that have been published. Most recently I was featured in a Local Magazine Forsyth Woman.
Other than that I am still me!
God Bless you all,
Theresa
