Therese's Story
After graduation I took time off for the summer and then started job hunting in New York with my father. I always wanted to learn more about stocks and bonds. In 1979 I was hired at Merrill Lynch. I handled all types of stocks and bonds, microfilmed them and took the film to get developed on a daily basis.
In 1984 I was fired from Merrill Lynch due to a bad back that I was out of work for several weeks. Doctors note was refused. I collected unemployment for the time being.
April 1985 I was hired at Drexel Burnham in New York. I enjoyed working at Drexel. Met a lot of nice people and became friends with. Every one watched out for each other. I handled coupon bonds. At maturity dates, I would clip the coupon off the bonds and take them to another department which sent payment to the clients.
In May of 1985 I was in a severe car accident. Sent me to the hospital with a lot of internal bleeding. I was in the hospital for 12 days. Six of those days were spent in intense care. Went back to work a year later. Unable to concentrate on my work, I was advised to find a job closer to home. This is when I started working in the hospitality business.
Worked for the Sheraton Hotel in Hazlet , New Jersey in 1987. Worked the grave yard shift 11pm - 7am. I loved it. Met some great people. In 1988 I met this gentleman by the name of Austin Jones. He was married when we met. We became best of friends. I was in a relationship as well. In August of 1988 I moved to Orlando Florida to be with my boyfriend.Things didn't work out, got my own place.
My best friend called me up to let me know his wife had passed away. I said I would come home (New Jersey) and help him with his kids. He didn't want me to get hurt. His wife's family were crazy people. Always looking for a fight with any one.He did come to visit with his son. We went to Disney, had a great time.
1991 Austin moved to Orlando Florida to be with me. We were best of friends already and cared a lot about each other.We were married April 1991.
I continued working in the hospitality field. Worked at several hotels on and off.Gave birth to our son in 1993. His name is Christopher. He is now a senior in Hi...Expand for more
gh School. Graduates in 2011. We are very proud of him. He has a very good heart and cares about people.
June of 2009 I was diagnosed with endrometrium cancer. A full hysterectomoy was done. Due to the type of chemotherapy and radiation I under went, the nervous system in my legs were affected. I have neuropothy in my legs. Walking is painful at times. Must use a walker at all times. A wheelchair is used when going to the movies, or out door sports.I am on disabiltiy. As far as working again, per the doctors, I can not work.
Just would like to say this to the class of "78".. May God bless you and your families in whatever you do. For those that have joined the service, thank you for protecting us and our freedom. Love to all.
As of June 28, 2011, my husband had abandoned us. His excuse was he could not take it any more.. He was about to have a 2nd breakdown. An excuse to be with the Back Stabbing Liar". She was aked what her intentions were and sad "I have no intentions with your husband". She invited him over, had sex, came home with a hickey on his neck. Said he did not know why it was there. Called him a liar. Made him sleep on couch. We are separated after 20 years of marriage. Our son wants and has nothing to do with him. He does not even want him near me. Our son just graduated High School this year. I am so proud of him. He has my back. I love him very much. My sons friends even help me out. I think that is so cool. They are real tight with Chris. I believe in forgiveness, but, how many times for the same thing do you forgive? Let me know! He even has a 13 almost 14 year old daughter from hs infidelities. Believe me,"You reap what you sow". "What goes around comes around". I strongly believe they both will get what they deserve. I have very good friends who have my back. I feel I am blessed with them being in my life. So, as of June 28,2011, I am separated. Maybe one day I will meet a person who is not selfish and all about himself and money.
