Thomas (Tom)'s Story
Life
In 1979, the day after graduating high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. During my 8 year enlistment I served as a Security Policeman, a Defensive Arial Gunner on B-52 Bombers, and a Computer Operations' Supervisor at NORAD. In 1987 I left the military to complete my education. I settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
To put myself through school, I went to work for the City of Colorado Springs' Utilities Department where I still work today. In 1989 I got married to Gerry Barnes of South Dakota. We have two daughters, Kaitlyn, born July 27, 1983, and Kendra born July 3, 1996. While working ...Expand for more
full time and raising a family I completed my education. I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Pikes Peak Community College in 1993, a Bachelors of Science degree from Colorado Christian in 1995, and a MBA in Information Services from the University of Colorado in 1998.
In 1999 I graduated from Leadership Pikes Peak and have been active with the organization ever since. I believe strongly in community stewardship and serves on various committees and boards. He is currently contemplating political office and is participating in the 6 month, Bighorn Political Development Program.
