Thomas's Story

Life: On May 26, 2005, I was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Florida at St. Catherine's, Jacksonville. I serve as a prison missioner in prisons in north Florida and as the Interim Chaplain at Baker Correctional Work Camp (going on nine years now). I am married to Pixianne Carlton Beasley and have one son: Benjamin Edward Beasley, MD (age 44), and an ER doctor in Billings, Montana, one stepson: Mabry Carlton Ashby. I have one grandson: Rigel Thomas Beasley (7 on June 9th and a granddaughter: Hazel Beasley (1 on March 17). One of my major interest, outside of prison, is the emergent church. rence in Baltimore, MD. back in September, 2010. I have also made a sabbatical in February, 2011 with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove and the community of Rutba House and gave a one-day workshop on New Monasticism at St. John's Cathedral on April 14, 2011 as a followup on that experience. I am on facebook, twitter, Linkedin, Plaxo, Stumbleupon and Yahoo! to mention a few of the place to contact me on the web.I also have a webpage known as The Center for Applied Christianity which is now a Zombie Website as my old software is no longer supported by earthlink. I am looking forward to celebrating our class birthdays (# 70) in 2016!!! See you there.

The Core Values of the Chapels at Baker Main Camp and Work Camp:
While I'm having a wonderful day, I am mindful that some folks may not be doing so well. So I am sharing a poster we have on the wall in the chapel at the work camp as a reminder of 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
I am reminded of the following cartoon every time I have a birthday.

Good Morning, facebook friends. I trust that you all had a goodnight's rest.
A visual pun
I think this fellow has had enough of politics, too.
If the Democrats win next month, this man will be the fifth most powerful person in America . . . now if Elizabeth Warren becomes the majority leader . . .
Years ago, I had a cabbage salad made with Ramen Noodles at a church supper. It was good enough to go back for seconds and thirds. Anyone know what was in it besides Ramen noodles and cabbage?
Before their was Gatorade, there was switchel . . . a drink used in the hay-fields in years gone by.
Good Morning, facebook friends! I trust you had a restful night.
Have you had your morning dose?
