Thomas's Story

Life Well class of 68, it's been a long time since I saw the star city or any former schoolmates. You see, I actually moved to Newport News during my junior year and had to finish there. I then spent time in St. Louis and joined the military. I spent time in both the Marines and the army, from which I retired after 20 years. I was married for 37 years and have one son who resides in Raleigh, N.C and a daughter who resides in Newark, N.J. My wife passed away in 2010 and I live in columbia sc, which is her home town. Before moving here we lived in Newport News and I was the Chief of Security at the Williamsburg Pottery in Williamsburg. From time to time I've run into people from Roanoke and each time it mad...Expand for more
e me long for home and I often think of all the people I knew there. Having lived on Madison and Center Ave I knew a lot of people. From Gainesborough elementary to lincoln terrace, to booker t. to addison, I view my journey as a blessing. To have been touched by so many and that all these years later to still remember many of their names demonstrates to me that it truly takes a village to raise a child. The bonds that we made as we grew will forever be a part of each and every one of us. I look forward to hearing from you. I did get to attend the 40 year anniversary and had a blast reuniting with old friends (we're not old, we're seasoned, sassy, sophisticated and STILL SOOOOO COOL). i
