Thomas's Story
I'm originally from Petoskey, Michigan, USA, and graduated from Harbor Springs High School. I received my bachelor of science degree from Central Michigan University.
I first came to Korea in 1984, and married my wife (Korean and a teacher) at that time. I taught at Lansing Community College from 1986-89, at which time my wife and I returned to Korea with our young son, Nick. am University in Gyeongsan, South Korea. My master's and doctorate degrees are in Korean studies.
My interests, besides Korean history, include Korean traditional archery, which I have been practicing since 1993.
My wife is still a high school teacher here in Korea. My son, like his dad, is a university professor (daytime); at night, he's a rock star (The Hysterics and Sweet Side Birds; also he was a member of a band called Vanilla Unity--all can be found on Facebook and YouTube).
