Thomas's Story
Life
After graduation in 1969, my family moved to Longboat Key, Florida, and I went off to college at Florida State in Tallahassee. While I was there, Monica Putnam came down to join me when she graduated, we married, but then separated in my senior year. I traveled the country for a couple years, working some unique jobs in unique places, like being a swim coach and bartender/cook in Cape Cod and a silver miner in Crested Butte, Colorado. I ended up back in graduate school in archeology at Florida State. Monica and I remained good friends despite our separation, since she was also a graduate student there in English. I deeply regret that I have lost track of her over the years, and if anyone knows how to contact her, please let me know.

my first academic appointment at Univ of South Carolina School of Medicine. I met and married my most recent ex-wife Donna, I inherited 2 step-daughters, we had 2 more children, and I have gradually become a grandfather X 5. After USC, I held appointments at Univ Michigan Medical School, Medical College of Georgia, Univ of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and now I am back at the Univ of Michigan Medical School as Associate Professor of Anatomy, teaching medical students and enjoying it tremendously.
Within the past few years, I have been able to get together with Barry Downs, who also migrated to Ann Arbor, although he took a more direct route. We have enjoyed remembering Caledonia, Kirk, and Shaw days together. I have recently been in contact with Bill Berens and Danny Hood, and it's been great to talk about the old days.
