Thomas's Story
Aloha and Howdy from Hickey-
I blog at myspace as tommytypical and facebook as Thomas Hicks. Let's see 36 years is a long time so it will take me a while to catch up. I have written eight books and have traveled around the world. I have published poetry and I have worked on a short film for the Sundance Film Festival and I am on the Board of a local theatre group. I have acted in many plays and directed and produced others. Writing and the Arts are my passion. I had many great teachers at Lake City Elementary and High School and I am happy to have grown up in a smal town in the mountains by a trout stream.
I read a lot when roaming around Walden's Ridge and I got to participate in the Hemingway Look-A-Like contest in Key West. I have over ten million frequent flyer miles and learned to surf, have jumped out of planes, and love to ski. But I will never forget the times I sat on the House Rock and looked out over the valley below.
Though I skipped school and tried to ...Expand for more
go to Spring Break in 1971, I didn't let getting thrown in jail in Dalton, GA deter me. I am still trying to get to beaches around the world to play and so far it is in the hundreds.
I graduated from being a hippie and I am now a recycling consultant and have my own little consulting business. I have been in the sports business and the cigar business and others. I have had successes and failures but that's the risk of being a capitalist.
I didn't get married until I was 30 and then I was ready to have children and watch them grow. It has been a great joy. My Paw Paw was a preacher and I shall never forget my roots, but I have expanded everyday. My partner is a Jewish Holocaust survivor and I have met people from many religions and beilief systems. We are all God's chillun as far as I am concerned.
I will never forget the fun I had in school and life has always held much adventure for me.
Peace and Respect to all my friends and classmates. More to follow-
